We are proud to announce that three of our salons, Dursley, Gloucester and Stroud, have made it through to the Regional Finals
of the most exclusive hair dressing competition in our industry, The L'Oreal Colour Trophy, which will be held at Cheltenham
Racecourse on the 2nd of April.
Well done to the Peter Hickman Team!
We are thrilled to announce that last October we won the Corporate Social Responsibility award at the recent Diamond Jubilee Gloucestershire Business Awards 2012.
Our company has been recognized for our training programme of our apprentices and Mr Hickman’s Charity fund raising, making him one of Gloucestershire’s most hard working fundraisers. He founded the Pied Piper Appeal and has worked tirelessly to raise funds for the children’s ward at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Mr Hickman was awarded an MBE in 2005 for his charity work.
On the 18th of November 2012 we hosted yet another successful “Blow Dry Evening” at the Gloucester Branch featured in Cotswold Life and The Citizen. Having rather a few clients always mentioning “I can never dress my own hair like you do”, gave us the idea of teaching our clients how to do so. Armed with hints and tips we discussed with our clients what they struggle with and taught them a few steps and what products they should use and why so they could conquer their own hair at home.
Karen Gulley: “I can’t believe how simple the techniques are!”
Cheryl Long: “Who would have thought hair ups could be so easy?”
We now have another blow dry evening scheduled for 2013.
Apprentices from the six salons of the Peter Hickman Hairdressing group took part in their annual competition in May. This year was the 30th anniversary of this inter-salon competition where first and second year apprentices compete to display their technical and creative skills.
The competition was sponsored by L'Oreal and the judges included Chris Appleton, Young Hairdresser of the Year 2009 and currently involved in international fashion shoots, Victoria Strain, Executive Training Consultant for L'Oreal, Susan Hickman, the Group Training Co-ordinator, and Katie Green, a senior stylist from the Ross salon and a previous winner of the competition and a L'Oreal Colour Trophy finalist.
Before departing for Sweden, Chris Appleton congratulated the Peter Hickman Group and applauded all the competitors for their creativity and high quality of work. He said afterwards, "I loved every minute of it. Invite me back anytime."
